Who are we?
We are an incorporated not-for-profit body: our constitution was last updated in 2006. We are a member of the peak body for Australian editors, the Institute of Professional Editors.
In 2007 we celebrated our 21st birthday by hosting the third IPEd National conference: From inspiration to publication.
The Society aims to:
- help establish and maintain high standards of editing
- promote the exchange of ideas and information on professional matters
- provide opportunities for professional development
- raise government, industry and commercial awareness of the benefits of professional writing and editing.
